• **Hologram/Warranty Sticker (Model One):** Ensure the hologram is pristine and shows no signs of being peeled or replaced.
• **Contents:** Confirm all standard items are present: the Trezor device, the USB cable, the Recovery Seed card(s), and the documentation.

If you find any signs of tampering or the device appears used, **do not proceed** with the setup. Contact Trezor Support immediately via the official website.

The Trezor Suite is the mandatory, official interface for setting up and managing your hardware wallet. Always use the dedicated desktop application for the highest level of security.

2.1 The Secure Download Protocol

1. **Manual URL Entry:** Open your browser and manually type the correct address: https://trezor.io/start. This redirects you to the official download page for Trezor Suite.

3.2 Generating Your Recovery Seed (The Master Key)

This is the most critical step. Your Recovery Seed (12, 18, or 24 words) is the ultimate backup. If your device is lost, stolen, or damaged, this seed is the *only* way to recover your funds.

• **Generate New Wallet:** Select this option. The words will be displayed **EXCLUSIVELY on your Trezor device's small screen.**
• **Handwrite:** Write the words down exactly as they appear onto the provided Recovery Seed card(s). Check spelling, capitalization (though most are lowercase), and order meticulously.
• **Secure Storage:** Store the handwritten card(s) offline in a private, fire-resistant, and secure location, separate from the device itself.

3.3 Setting the PIN and Device Name

Set a secure PIN (4 to 9 digits recommended) to protect the device from unauthorized physical access. You will enter the PIN using the randomized input layout displayed on the Trezor's screen, ensuring keyloggers cannot capture it. Finally, name your Trezor device (e.g., "My BTC Vault") for easy identification.
